How much money can you save with seniors' discounts?

The Globe tallied up the savings, based on discounts from a selection of businesses

Note: The Cineplex example is based on online ticket prices (including the online booking fee) for a 6:30 p.m. showing of Disclosure at Cineplex Cinemas Varsity and VIP in Toronto on July 10. Prices may vary by theatre, movie, format and showtime. A spokesperson for Cineplex reported that discounts average 25 per cent off per ticket. Some discounts might also require seniors to sign up for rewards programs, such as a PC Optimum card at Shoppers Drug Mart.
