The Boundary Waters

In northeastern Minnesota, water flows north and west toward Hudson Bay, through a region prized both for its wilderness and its vast stores of critical minerals. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness draws paddlers from across the world. Nearby mineral deposits hold a third of the copper found in the U.S. and 95 per cent of the nickel.
