* This map is based on Edmonton zoning bylaw in 2018.
* Edmonton has permitted secondary suites in single-family zones since 2017 and garden suites since 2009. In 2024 it permitted up to eight units per lot across much of the city.
* Other types of houses include semi-detached houses, row houses and low-to-high-rise apartments.
