GIC rate was obtained from ratehub.ca, using the highest rate displayed for a 5-year GIC. Price quotes for Government of Canada and Province of Ontario bonds were closing prices obtained from FactSet. All price data was at the close of business on February 28, 2024. Assumes a 50% marginal tax rate. YTM was calculated by the author (and cross referenced with FactSet where applicable). Estimated After-Tax Return was calculated in the same manner as a YTM calculation, but with estimated amount and timing of income taxes payable.
