Fertile valley

The Okanagan Basin is a narrow 200-kilometre strip that includes six main lakes. The mountains that surround the basin cast what’s known as a “rain shadow,” giving the region 300 days of sunshine per year. This sunshine – combined with dark brown soil from the lake –is the perfect combination for growing an apple or cherry.
