Zoning of residential land in Toronto

This map is based on Toronto zoning bylaw in 2018.
* Toronto legalized secondary suites in all single-family zones in 2013, laneway suites in 2019, and garden suites in 2022.
* Other types of residential include semi-detached houses, row houses and apartments. Much of central Toronto’s zoning has long allowed small apartments, subject to heavy restrictions on building size and configuration.
